The Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) submitted a report entitled An Assessment of Flywheel High Power Energy Storage Technology for Hybrid Vehicles to the US Department of Energy (DOE). The report points out the advantage and maturity of the flywheel technology, suggesting DOE to give this technology renewed consideration and update the clean energy S&T strategy.
